Update is mismatch

Hi all

i have tried to update the firmware on the F5 and am getting an error message that the file is a mismatch.
how can I tell whether this box is genuine?

look in the information screen and make sure your F5 has an ALI 3601HD chip
Software version is along the lines of
3601HD_27_03_2013_0794

your should have a similar but possibly older version

Yes information says ali3601 hhad software 3601hd_31_10_2012_0b39.
i have downloaded latest software and upgraded by USB but get message mismatch

are you getting the file from Skybox.cc and then unzipping it to the .abs file

After trying to upgrade my f5 box. the box is only booting to L097 and then is stuck. doesnt boot any further. Please help.

I am trying to use erom upgrade but getting no further. connected via rs232 cable. COM1 selected. Message just says 'synchronising STBs, please reset target!'.
What am I doing wrong?

your box is either a clone or you are using the wrong file when up dating FW m8ty ;)

My SKYBOX F6 PVR HD box keeps rebooting and does not display anything on the screen. I have tried to upgrade using rs232 cable but when I try I get an error "wrong file" any idea to resolve this guys.

it sounds like you are using the wrong file, get in touch with the person you got the box off and ask them where to get the FW for the box from or ask them to email it you.

Glad to inform you guys that I have finally managed to upgrade my skybox F6 PVR HD that was constantly rebooting with the recovery tool for open box x5. those with similar problem please follow the link below. Openbox X5 Recovery tool

Hi friend for F5 kindly visit skybox.cc (http://www.skybox.cc/downinfo.asp?id=87) and use the F5 recovery tool it should work.
