Zgemma LC

I ordered a H 5 last week, should be here this week

Can't wait to get my teeth into it!

Also it has a dual core where as the h2h has a dual thread.

Woosh is right, it does look capable with 4k video with its HEVC/H.265 output.
Also has a few extra codecs added to it

As far as I know, it's the same CPU in the H. series as the H5 - just with HEVC compatibility. BCM7362 vs BCM73625?

Yup - H5 is still single core, dual thread. No dual core quite yet.

When you get an image up and running, check the CPU. If it's a BCM73625 then unfortunately I'd trust the broadcom data sheets over manufacturers marketing.

The 73625 is simply nothing more than the 7362 with HEVC hardware decoding.

It's even in the OpenPLI hardware list as single core. http://wiki.openpli.org/comparison
If you already have a H. box then there's no point upgrading because until we know more how 4k will be transmitted it offers little more. I suspect it'll play 4k videos from USB etc but considering most 4k TVs can do that anyway I'm not sure what else you gain.

Alright when it arrives i'll do that. Does sound like the BCM73625 is still Single core with dual threading can't find anywhere, other than listed on zgemma h 5 sites that the BCM73625 is dual core.

Yeah there isn't an awful lot to gain from this zgemma h 5.

Be very careful with what the manufactures state on the websites, there good at making things look faster than they really are

I suspect it might be to do with the BCM7362 has stopped production? And rather than just use the new one (it's pin compatible) they get the chance to market a new 4k product at a greater price.
