A Buyers Guide To The Best Box

I think it's a great box.
dsayers2014 has a way of creating a combined bouquet with VM HD channels but I prefer separate ones.

H2S is a twin satellite receiver and a H2H is a some satellite and single cable tuner, better k own as a combo receiver

Was mucking about with the Edision OS mega last night.
I bought it on the strength of the fact that it was 2 x sat and 1 x cable, usually combo boxes are 2 x cable and 1 x sat.
When I was checking out the third tuner configuration I noticed that it could be configured as cable/sat/terrestrial.
Went back to look at the specs and very surprised to see the below:

EDISION OS MEGA 3RD TUNER IS A BRAND NEW TYPE OF MULTI-TUNER. IT CAN BE USED FOR EITHER DVB-S/S2, DVB-T/T2 OR DVB-C. CONNECT BOTH SATELLITE AND TERRESTRIAL FEEDS OR BOTH SATELLITE AND CABLE FEEDS. TUNER CAN BE SET TO DVB-S2 BUT DUE TO THE TUNER TYPE ITS POSSIBLE TO SCAN BOTH SIGNAL TYPES (via AutobouquetsMaker, Terrestrial Scan or Satellite scan). IT'S THEN POSSIBLE TO SWITCH BETWEEN SATELLITE AND TERRESTRIAL/ CABLE CHANNELS THROUGH CHANNEL LIST WITHOUT CHANGING TUNER SETTINGS.
OS MEGA CAN BE SETUP IN ANY OF THE FOLLOWING COMBINATIONS:
2X DVB-S/S2 SATELLITE + 1X DVB-C CABLE
2X DVB-S/S2 SATELLITE + 1X DVB-T/2 TERRESTRIAL

3X DVB-S/S2 SATELLITE

Ahh, so what they have done is to put a multi tuner in with a standard twin sat tuner, very clever as it looks like there bringing new models out all the time (other brands) when in fact there just adding a "new type of multi tuner"

Hi all,

I am looking for some quick advise. I am looking for a box for around £100.00 to use with Virgin Media broadband. Also I will need to use Wifi as it will be a distance from the router.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Many thanks,

Thank you. Would this work with just Virgin Media broadband via Wifi and no tuner?

You will need to split your broadband feed to your router, then take a feed to the new box, wireless is ok on short distances or plugin an Ethernet cable. Its got a tuner which you need to use.

Don't use wifi, use a set of tp link mini nano 200mbps powerline adapters to connect your box via your ring mains, £20 odd quid and your box is hard wired
