WHat box to get?

You don't need a channel list, the box does it for you once you set up the plugin and it'll make a guide that looks like sky (or virgin).

You get next to nothing in the HD front on satellite but you get near enough all of them on VM.

I just wondered about a channel list of what's there for curiousity.

If my VM line is active, if the H2s isn't the box for VM as well which one do I get?

Fek I need to try and find out if this lines active.. no ones got a modem I can borrow

Right then finally got a mate who will let me test my line later. If I borrow the modem as it's an approved modem on their network it should automatically work if my lines active yes?

Or is it better borrowing the TV box?

A modem wont work in another house i'm afraid as you need to ring virgin to activate it... you'd have been better off borrowing a mate's tivo box and seeing if you get any channels at all - if you do, then it's active.

Modem worked fine :). As I thought it's the mac address's that's active. So as long as the line is connected an authorised MAC address will connect and work fine.

So as I know I have an active Virgin connection Can someone confirm the following.

Get a Zgemma H2.h so it's a sky and virgin input

It will work with sky broadband and don't actually need a virgin product

I need to install whoosh when I get it?

I have to purchase a separate gift for sky and virgin.

Cheers for all your help so far guys, appreciate it

The Vm will only work if your cable line is active with skybroadband it's normally best to go with Vm that way you know the cables active

Can't go with VM... I borrowed the modem to see if my line is active which it is, the modem connected to the internet fine.

This is where I'm confused my line exists but I do not have a product. So as I don't have an official product despite the line being active then the H2.H will not work?

If the lines active the cable will work but as your not using Vm they have the right to cut the line if they see its in use amd not being paid for

It's been 2 years since I had them so would have thought they would have cut it off by now. If worst case they did cut it off. Could I always use both sky inputs in there?

The h2h only has one sat input like you said worth giving it a go I know loads that haven't had Vm and there lines active but also heard of people getting it cut after getting one of these boxes setup

So would you go with the h2s then for that reason? I'm tempted to get h2h but I don't want to spend a ton and then have it go down...

Also it just looking at VM terms, there is a section about you cannot move equipment from install location. If my brother purchased a subscription and had the self setup in theory he could install at at my house as that would be the install location. Doesn't say anywhere you have to live at the address your having the service lol

There is a bit saying Home - the residential property where we or you install apparatus and to which we agree to supply the services. Again self install would imo would defer the install location as home.

If your brother went with Vm it would be the line coming into the property that's live and active nothing to do with equipment tho

yes but they ain't gonna be bothered seeing a paid broadband subscription on my life compared to line use without a subscription which the zgemma would do

He's would be paying for use of equipment at install location. If installed here then that's the location.

I can't have in my name.. which is annoying..

Also my bro in law has the Zgemma h2 combo so he has sat and cable input. Wouldn't that be the better option should My VM line go down?

Right I see yes if you get Vm fibre installed at yours yes you shouldn't have a problem with a h2h and a cable line you can have both cable and.sat line running at same time no problem
