Using HD n Laptop

If you just plug it into the laptop it should come up with a message 'This drive is not formatted, do you want to format it now?'
Just click yes and select NTFS.

Hi.

I now have no need for my external HD in my zgemma. Is there a way I can reformat it to use on my laptop?

Yes there is.
Again another poster, frugal with information, however notwithstanding this, assuming it is a Windows based laptop then go into disk management and you should see your USB HDD listed, so select it and format it as NTFS or Fat 32 so Windows can work with with it.
If your laptop is Mac based then unfortunately I cannot help as I have no experience with them.
