Internet reset??

Hi wondering if there's anything I can do about my internet causing glitching. I reset my router many times to try and stop the unwatchable glitching and gave up watching sports and movies in the end . No better. I reset my router last night and it's perfect !! Any advice on what the problem was or how to prevent it ? My internet has always been fine 100mg.

Tell us more about your setup > cables (type / brand / connections / lengths) , splitters (how many / what brand / what frequency) , connectivity to internet (home plugs / ethernet / wifi)

Ok, you could try a new, better quality ethernet cable - cat 7.

If you've reset the router many times and it made no difference and you reset it last night and noticed a difference, i'd say this is highly unusual and maybe just a coincidence. Keep an eye on it and see how it goes - maybe your line provider is over subscribed so when everyone is watching those channels, you're getting the issue you're getting so may be worth trying a test line from another provider if it happens again but yeah, see how it goes :)

What are your overall ECM times? These are your ping times to your line provider server.

What are your power levels shown in your router?

That's correct - upstream is ok as it should be between +23 and 55 with 2 channels locked on 16QAM ... how about downstream?

Do you only have broadband with VM, or TV too?

If you have TV, connect the tv box and router only and see if the power levels are still the same. If so you could ring virgin and tell them about the power levels being too low.

If you only have broadband, connect only the router and see what the levels are. I suspect that they’d go closer to 0db therefore you won’t be able to complain to VM. You’d have to DIY in ways such as powered splitters etc.

As said, downstream power level is too low - the threshold is -6 to +10 so needs looking into by VM.

So i haven't touched it since last post. Don't fix what's not broke...
This morning all channels glitching like mad. Checked all my levels and they are the same as previously posted with just box and modem connected....
I'd love to know what this issue is :(
Thanks all
