Dish install

Hi,

I'm wishing to install an 80 cm dish for 3-4 satellites running to a zgemma h2s. I understand that I require 3 single lnb's, an lnb holder, the dish and a 4 way diseqc switch. Would the technomate products from be suitable? Is there any way to setup so that I can record one channel whilst watching another?

Thanks,
Andrew

Ive got technomate 65cm dish and LNBs from
work fine
if you want to record and watch at same time you will need dual LNBs and 2 x diseqc in order to use both tuners

Thanks for the replies. I ended up going for a 1m dish, dual lnbs and 2 4 way diseqc. I assume its a straightforward wiring up exercise. 1 port on each lnb to 1 port in 1 diseqc, then the other port in each lnb to the same port locations on the other diseqc. Then 1 wire running from each diseqc to the receiver. Is it better to have diseqc's close to the lnbs, or could I have them in the loft with a longer cable length to each?

Andrew

I'd say you can have them wherever you like but remember longer cable runs are susceptible to signal loss.

My diseqc are in loft, about 6or7m from dish, then one box about 7m away, and my shed box about 25-30m away.
Use GOOD QUALITY co-ax
I have my switches in descending order
ie: 28 port 1 , 19 port 2 , 13 port 3 ,
Makes it easier when you are setting ports on the box.

2nd post down shows how to connect up diseqc
Obviously if you only have one box then diseqc outputs go to tuners A& B of same box

Hey got my 1m dish up. Got 13, 19, 23.5 and 28 sats. Still need to fiddle about with lnbs to improve signal. Can you recommend a trusted euro c line provider? Thanks for the help in setting up.

good stuff :(y):

I've yet to get my 1m up yet,
I'm probably going motorised on it tho, as I have my 65cm with 13 19 28 on it,
we like pictures, :)
could you get 16 between 13 and 19 on a 1m dish.?

I had trouble spacing the LNBS and getting good signal. I bought a satlink ws6906 to help me out. I was therefore able to get good signal on 19 and 28. I couldn't pick up 13 or 23.5 with the meter. Would it need a software upgrade or different settings? Anyway, I just pushed the 13 lnbs right up next to 19, no no space at all. And my receiver ended up picking it up. 23.5 was just left bang in the middle of 19 and 28 and somehow my receiver picked it up too. For 13 and 23.5, my receiver is only picking them up on one tuner not both. I obviously have to play about with them two lnbs a bit more.

Have you got both tuners set up the same,?
ie: tuner B same as tuner A
and set record to auto

Double check you haven't mixed up the cables at the diseqc ports

i love mixing up all my cables from all my dishes:LOL:
make a note of what dish and cable supplies feed to diseqc

buying different colours of insulation tapes makes life easier

red for hot bird:LOL::LOL::LOL: hehe
white i think was for astra
blue for motorised

imagine what its like with 2 dual LNBs a quattro and a multiswitch

ha ha I miss read your post, sorry ment i can receive 16e on a 1m dish not fit a lnb between and 16 deg.
no worries,
ye, I can receive 16 and 23 on a 65cm dish, but using standard LNBs dont have physical space for them between 13 19 28
I'm going to change out my 19LNB for a slimline one and see if I can get 23 that way, as atm I can't get 13 over far enough to 19 to get good signal on all TPs anyway,
and, I will use the LNB I take off for my motorised 1m dish when I get it up :)
