Freezing problems

Like some others i'm getting a lot of freezing now on cable, i'm using vix image, i have tried others, i have been messing about all day with it, but still the same, i think i can rule out the line as i have two on the go and one of them i have used for years with no problems, it was working fine up to a few weeks ago so can't see it being my setup, i have changed a few things to be sure, is this the start of it coming to an end like satellite? if so others should be getting problems? or before i change everything is it a general c/s issue?

Mines the same..sometimes quite bad. Softcam Panel reports "No new ECM info" when the freezing occurs, so I'm fairly certain it's a Supplier issue.

Thanks, i know we have had a good run, but just needed others to confirm the problems before i spend any more time poncing about with it, as my wife calls it, they don't understand.

what channels are you seeing freezing on?
if it's sports and movies channels then this isn't acceptable, if it's the odd +1 channel or other unpopular crap like Dmax and W thn this is fairly commonplace

Thanks, it's racing uk, gold, eurosport2, at the races, some movie channels, bbc news Hd, yesterday, nat geo HD, and others.

Yes...some Movie channels, 1 or 2 of the Sports Channels. I don't bother much with anything else tbh

It must be your provider, I'm using knowsley netid and all these channels play fine for me, only watched a minute of each but not a flicker on any of them
not seen any movie channels freeze for a long time

just to mention i'm now in Northants, if that makes any difference? i'm using 2 subs in oscam, hard to believe they are both no good, as i said i have been with one for years with little trouble, maybe i should try some others again?

Mine is currently randomly freezing on Sly Thriller HD, for appx 8-10 secs at a time. Softcam Panel reporting "No New ECM info" ect.

If you are using 2 different lines in oscam then I'd be suspecting the splitter or cables, what name's on the splitter?

Where the cable comes into my kitchen it has a join on it, then through to the living room straight to the box, i tried using a Tratec splitter with no change. does it have to have a splitter?

No it doesn't need a splitter unless you're using VM broadband as you need a cable to the router and also to the box

i'm with BT fibre , so no need for a splitter in my case, trying to watch the racing on racing uk, that channel is the worst of them, freezing all the time, thanks for replies.

Thought I would watch a bit of Racing UK -- no glitching (area 00022)

Himself has just won the 8.15 at Kempton ... :)

There have been a few reports of freezing from various providers.

The trouble is only watching a channel for a minute or so doesn't prove anything, I had heard a few reports from people using different providers yesterday about freezing, channels like Drama, Discovery and ITV+1, I flicked through a few and saw no issues but then I left drama on and it was freezing badly. I tested same channels this morning and they were freeze free for me.

There appear to be too many providers affected to be just a line issue.

nice to see no one has posted what their signal level is on their bad channels, also bad cable or wrong splitters in use?
