i too have a box stuck on boot loop, my channels went everywhere and i stupidly restarted the box, lost everything, but can i get it to flash?... no... could be the usb, as im on a MacBook i managed to erase the usb, and get it to ex fat, and downloaded grogbuilds, to try and flash the box with no avail. its been so long since ive had to do this, im fumbling my way around... any help would be appreciated, otherwise this woman will be baldheaded with frustration.

Format the USB 8gb if possible, and make sure its inserted to the rear of the box not the front,

When you boot up it should display usb on the led screen then press the power button on the front panel for a few seconds when you release it should display flash,
If you don't get the USB on the screen try another USB, once flashed make sure you take the usb out otherwise it will start to flash again,

thanks for the reply, i have tried 3 different usb sticks, still it will only boot, i dont find it easy to format a drive on the mac.... so its been double the trouble, ive now been trying for an hour and a half, visiting various sites. watching youtube vids , reading in the forums with no luck....

Try and flash your box with a clean image first, to see if the box will load it, [ Re-name file " noforce" to "force" ] and do a deep format on you stick [ scandisk are good ] then try again with your back-up

Had the same issue. Tried different USB sticks no luck. However when I flash other images Openpli etc no issue. Would it be anything to do with the openatv version?

No m8, i re-flashed my box with openatv 6.1 just last week, I myself blame the box, but others will say different, I use a 2gb sandisk usb, and it works for me, just persevere with it, and it should eventually flash, a clean image is best with these boxes

ok guys, thanks for the advice, tried it all.... so i have now took 3 different sized and makes of usb to a friends, and did a format to fat 32 on each of them..... so before i attempt again to flash my seemingly dead box, is there a mac version you have to download of wb or does it not matter.

I have flashed the H9S today about 8 times so far with openATV 6.1 and 6.2 with today's date no problems at all.

WooshBuild Infinity is for an Enigma2 box, not for PC or MAC and you do it via your web browser using the build in Webif webpage the box has.

I presume you are pressing the reset button on the back of the box and then turning the box on with the USB plugged in? Keep hold of the reset button until the LED on the front flashes red.

It shouldn't matter as long as you get it to flash a fresh OpenATV nightly image.

@wooshman didn't the original zgemma h9s etc images have issues with updating. Plus factory images in boxes maybe old.

Maybe add a note for users not to try the command on factory installed images on box but to flash latest latest OpenATV nightly image first.

update to nothing... tried again different newly formatted usb drives, used 4 different programmes to unzip files, renamed force.... dragged them onto my usb.... (not in the one folder, but the 4 individual ones, did it with WB and GB. (not together)... still just comes up with boot...and loops.... all i did was a factory reset. Im at a loss.... and so is my hair. !

Download this zip file. I know you may already have it but humour me please.

http://images.mynonpublic.com/openatv/current/zgemmah2s/openatv-6.1-zgemmah2s-20180601_usb.zip

Format your USB on your computer. It needs to be formatted to FAT32
Open the file and put the zgemma folder from the zip file onto the USB stick.

Remove any USB devices from your box.

With your H2S turned off, put the USB in the front of the box and turn the box on.
When the LCD on the front of the box says UPDT or USB press the front power button (the silver line button)
The LCD should instantly change to FLSH

Give the box 10 minutes and it will restart to show you the openATV video wizard. At this point you can turn the box off with the white button at the back of the box and remove the USB stick.

If you box still hasn't flashed then you should follow @Willo3092 great USB guide: http://www.techkings.org/resources/preparing-flash-drives.41/

If you get that far your box is flashed. From there you can decide what you want to do with your box. You can flash your box again using an image of your choice in exactly the same way or you can follow the instructions to setup WooshBuild Infinity.

thanks wooshman, i tried.... followed your link, downloaded the file, in the h3 folder were 5 files, imageversion-kernel.bin-noforce-rootfs.bin-splash.bin. unzipped the 3 showing as zipped, dragged them onto the stick along with imageversion and noforce. I think this is where ive gone wrong along the way... frustrating thing is, ive done a flash on the box previously, worked no problems, when i was on a windows system, but using my MacBook just doesn't seem to be doing the job properly. I am going to try and do all this using a family pc running windows, to see if i can get the box to identify the usb... at the mo, its still only booting and its getting close to me giving it a booting .

When you turned the box on, did the LCD on the front say UPDT and USB ? If so, that is the time to press the front silver button on the left front of the box.
