freezing

got 2 boxes both on differnet servers and keeps freezing espically national geographic. my pal has checked all connections and seem to be ok and within spec. any ideas please?

I'm going nuts with the same issue, which has been going on for months. Regular freezing, not too bad on Movies, very bad on Sky Arts, H2 etc, no freezing on BBC1 (free channel). You would assume it is my service provider, but.....

  • Using Zgemma H2 with OpenATV 6.0
  • My broadband is 300mb, stable, no dropping
  • Connected via LAN, or wifi.....still freezes
  • Am using either CCCam or OSCam with lines from 2 different providers....still freezes
  • Have also tried 4 free 24 hour test lines.....STILL freezes!!!
  • Installed brand new cables, new F connector and a £32.00 signal booster.....still freezes
  • Tried 4 different signal splitters....same thing
I am at a loss here. I have replaced everything, tried multiple lines, used CCCam, Oscam. The free channels don't freeze, Movie channels freeze but about once every couple of minutes. Others, like Sky Arts, H2, Discovery Science, Nat Geo freeze 3 or 4 times a minute. If the box is faulty, surely that would affect free channels as well? Does anyone have any idea what I could do to rectify, given what I have already tried? Thanks

I am having the same trouble. Reflashed my box, changed from mgcamd to cccam, to newcamd... different versions of each... still getting issues.

iv'e done all the things mentioned above to sort mine out, couldn't get it to stop freezing, the only thing that did help was not using OSCam, and changed to mgcamd 1.38, can't say it's as good as it used to be but it's watchable, can't say it would work for others but worth a try.

Personally I would consider updating your box, ATV 6 and 6.1 are no longer supported and are out of date, flash the box with 6.2, then try a decent test line.

Okay, so having replaced everything from cables to connectors, trying a multitude of different Clines, Nlines, CCcam, Oscam etc., and even trying the box at a different premises (still freezing), I can confirm that the issue is definitely the box.

It seems these Zgemma boxes as susceptible over time to a poor connection where the F connector plugs into the RF port. The issue is either the RF port, or where this RF port is soldered onto the main board. I can't be sure which, but it is definitely one of the two.

I removed the lid of the box and used by finger to gently move the RF input section (to see if there was a dry contact - none noted though). I also crimped the RF input center section (female) so that the male "F connector" pin makes a tight contact when inserted. From freezing randomly to badly (every 20 seconds on some channels), now no freezing at all for over 3 hours. None. Nada. Like a light switch.

If you have ruled out cables, connectors, broadband, C-lines, Softcam type etc., then it is likely your issue is the same as mine. Around the RF-input connection on the box. I hope this check helps others.

I also get freezing on certain channels, tried different lines from suppliers, thought it was something on my end but levels seem good, most sports are good and all movies are fine so not sure

Send me your configuration file for the Oscam but without your details and let me see how you got yours set up. As I managed to fix mine! With no more freezing

looking at his posting history, he's using C lines in H3.2tc and also in a H7 so he's not got an oscam config to send you

iv'e managed to fix my box that uses oscam, not able to help with enything else. plus never had any issue with zgemma.
sorry buddy

Hi there could you send me your config file for oscam? I tried a few oscam and still get freezing. Tried all sorts.

Zgemma h2.5tc.
I don’t use Zgemma. But here you go anyway and give it a try. It works best with WooshBuild Infinity
