Nvidia Shield

Best box by a mile. It runs IPTV perfect plus everything else that it can do is well worth the money.

If it's just IPTV then it potentially is overkill, as a Firestick can do the same.

I use mine for pretty much everything, IPTV, Kodi, Plex, Gaming, Retro Gaming. It's fast, reliable and the best Android box I have used.

If you have the money and will use it for more than just IPTV then go for it, you won't regret it.

Hope this helps!

i just picked mine up from currys same deal.
I currently use a formuler Z7+ for iptv which works spot on, but will be moving that to another room.
My questions is, is there a similer app to the MyTVOnline for the shield. i seen a few set up guides using the atv live channels app with TVirl but all seem to not auto update channel list and epg. Also the channel groupings is not covered in any review..
Whats your retro gaming set up like which emulators have to chosen and source iso's from?

Your question about MYTVOnline, I honestly have no idea, I just use my IPTV providers own app, which is based on Smarters IPTV.

Retro Gaming, I use RetroX, there is a fee of $12.99 to unlock the full program after a 5 day trial, but there are plenty of other options such as RetroArch and a few others, but I just went with RetroX due to how simple it is and all of the emulators are built into it. The ROMS, I got a load of them via torrents, but I also use BMC which is a fork of Kodi and this has loads of ROMS free to download.

They are really helpful and can answer anything about the Shield, loads of support and they also have loads of free ROMS/Emulators to download as well.

legend thanks.

the only thing about the smaters app i dislike is the channel browsing.
you could be on channel 1 folder a
but you want to see whats in folder d channel 100
you dont fancy it and want to stick with your current channel,
you cant just skip out of channel browsing by hitting the back button, you have to go back to folder a channel 1. hitting the back button takes you back to the folder list view..
If you can tell there is a way round this id stick to smarters all day long lol

wil the MOL app the channel browsing interface is cleaner and more logical hence why i like it so much.

Yeah, I know what you mean about the channel changing. I only use my IPTV for the sport, so it doesn't really bother me as I generally know which channel I need. I don't know of a way around the problem either. Maybe try another IPTV app and see if any of them are any better.

For this reason i stick with STB EMU PRO, makes navigation so much easier, also stop me have the need to mess around with usernames etc. Also the ability to switch between providers should the need arise. I have found that the stb emu app is a lot more responsive then the smarter version that i have had made.

Agree with madmike, stb emu pro is the way to go. If you sideload it onto the box, as opposed to buying it you can get it for free via apktime. Very decent and works on the preface of a mag 254 box. It's the best, most powerful box our there by a mile mate.

does the stb emu not have the same issue as smarters. you can only browse other folders by completly coming out of your current folder. and then if you just want to go back to the channel you was watching you have to return to it?

Hi i have just purchase
Nvidia Shield and bought plex and vitty anyone know how too set up what apps will i need thanks

The Shield is already setup and ready to go, all you need to do is add what apps you need. Not sure what you mean, "anyone know how to setup and what apps will I need?" Plex app is already on there, no idea what the other one is, I'm assuming IPTV, if so, your provider should be telling you what app you need to install.

If you need any specific help in setting something up then a bit more information would be beneficial.

In respect of Plex, I find that the Kodi Plex add-on works a lot better, I keep coming across problems with the Plex app. Not major problems, the app works, but the worst thing I find is the volume is always really low, but this is probably something to do with my Tv setup etc.

Can I ask for some advice please. I have a zgemma h2s which 18m ago I was using for whooshbuild and have a line for a full sky package. Anyway, when it all fell apart, I got sky q. I’ve had it 18m but just cancelled it. I’m got 3 weeks to get sorted. I also have an nvidia shield. I am planning on getting a iptv subscription and attaching a hard drive to record stuff and use it to replace my sky q box. Would I be best using the nvidia shield or the zgemma h2s? I notice whooshbuild infinity is out, I guess I can use this with zgemma and iptv but not the nvidia shield? If I use the shield,do I just download a app, stick in a IP address and password and I’m off, will I be able to use like a sky/freesat box and record and series link stuff?
Advice please greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Nvidia Shield, IPTV, you have various different apps that you can use, all very simple. Recording however is always hit and miss with IPTV, so it may not be so simple.

H2s will run IPTV, plus you have the benefit of the Sky look if you want it, plus you can record 1 sat channel and record another, series link etc.

IPTV recording all depends if your provider offers it, a decent provider with catch up would be better in my opinion.
