As Ste has said, this kit is absolute crap.

Always ask for advice on this forum before purchasing anything.

That kit is guaranteed to give you the worse possible picture going.

Fair enough, not really had a problem before, but now I'm swapping mine out also I bet I notice the difference. I actually got it recommended on here ages ago [emoji15]

Out of interest though, besides ste's recommendation, how do I spot a good splitter? What companies are the ones to look for?

You have been lucky if you used a kit like that lol
Them cables haven't a sniff of copper in them.

Look at virmin cables, pure copper core, and a decent quality splitter.

Cheers, I'm now going to order more and swap all the crap ones out for 4 boxes lol. There was only one 3 way splitter that ste recommended left, and I need one more. Any other recommendations on one would be appreciated

If you're going to be doing several cables, you'd be aswell just buying a 10m piece of Webro WF100 cable and a crimping tool / connections.

Tratec / Technetix are what VM use but Labgear ones from Screwfix will do the job too.

If your ever struggling with splitting cable try the powered HDU units, work a treat no issues on splitting it 4 ways even with long cable runs.

Finally got round to installing new cables and splitters and it was a huge success, thanks once again ste

Good to hear - it's surprising how much difference it makes using quality gear :)

This is some scenario's I have come across.

1. The virgin feed that comes in the house usually goes through an isolator in a white box attched to your internal wall. On a few occasions I have found the wiring to be kinked inside that box. Ive removed the isolater and connected the two wires together with a bridge and let it hang freely.

2. I(n the garden there is usually a splitter in a brown box fitted to your external wall. I have found the splitter in there to be rusty and generally in a poor state. Ive changed that out.
