Mgcamd for armv7?

Anyone know if there's an mgcamd ipk that is compiled for Armv7 devices? Oscam is doing my head in, so I want to try mgcamd to see if that has the same problem (to verify its oscam)

Yeah I've found BH and Vti builds but no vix.

Might try a test line from another provider just to be 100% sure its the software (but my brother's on the same server with a zgemma and hasn't complained of issues, so I doubt it's the line).

Failing that I guess I backup what I have and try out BH or Vti and see what they are like.

Don't know if this will help, but I managed to get 2 newcamd lines working on oscam on a VU+ Uno 4K using a BH image.

Hi Chris

I used BH with mgcamd and everything was fine (confirming that my line provider isn't at fault). However the BH EPG is just horrible, so I really couldn't stay on it (in fact I was on the edge of just chucking the box in the cupboard to gather dust and order a non-arm box). Having not been able to get much oscam help, I spent 3 weeks tweaking the oscam config (literally every single config value I must have tried all the various options for).

I'm still getting the odd freeze and related timeout in the log when it happens, but it's not as bad as it was, the period that it stays froze is also much smaller. As I changed so many config values I can't be sure what helped, I did enable cachex, although reading the oscam wiki, i'm not entirely convinced if it does anything when using dvbapi so maybe it was something else I changed.

I'm still not entirely happy with it, especially knowing that if i'd have just gone cheap and bought a zgemma i'd have a much better experience (since it's a mips processor and therefore has mgcam available), but at least it's watchable for now. I'm not sure if there's any other oscam configs I can mess around with, so i'll probably just have to live with it, as it is for now.

Hi Lee,

I was like you when I first installed a BH image on my Uno and was ready to throw it away, it wasn't until I loaded an Openvix image that I realised how clumsy and cumbersome the BH image was. The Openvix is much cleaner looking, better responding and much more user friendly. This is just my opinion ofcourse, but the Vix image has saved my Uno and I now actually like using the box for the first time since I bought it.

If you're not using an Openvix image Lee, I'd recommend you try one.

Hope this helps.

Well that's the thing, I used OpenVix first, I only switched to BH to test out mgcam since I was having so many issues with Oscam (and for the record, mgcam worked fine). If it wasn't for the god aweful EPG on BH I would have just stuck with it.

I did install Oscam on BH to start ruling stuff out, but Oscam was getting timeouts and freezing on BH too.

Given I hated BH and my other half threatening to pay for Sky, I switched back to Vix.

As I said above, i've tweaked the oscam config in every way I can find and it is better than it was, although still not as stable as mgcam on BH was, but that's a tradeoff i'm willing too make at the moment just for a decent EPG.

I was hoping that the Uno being so new, maybe it was a hardware/software issue, but given i'm in the minority of people having issues, that doesn't appear to be the case.

My only remaining thing to try is too just try a test line with someone else. Maybe for whatever reason my provider's lines don't work well with Oscam. But a 24hr test line simply isn't long enough too be sure, so unless I can find a friendly provider that's willing to give me like a week, then I'll probably just leave it as it is for now... At least all the important programs (aka the other halfs stuff) is available on-demand from the main 5 channels, so my ears get a rest!

have you read any of the mutant posts as they run oscam also and might have posted what to put where?

I probably did. I'll be honest I've looked at hundreds of threads across 4 or 5 sites over the past few weeks, and tried lots of different suggested configs. I had a quick look at the Mutant threads about OSCam and quite a few link to a post by gmangt4 in this thread: http://www.techkings.org/threads/oscam-for-atv.95494/ ... Which I believe is one if the first (if not the very first) config I tried when I got the box.
