Same problem here with either list

I put up the earlier list not the latest---you've downloaded direct from site not from this forum.
Unless I test then I will not publish here on forum.

Which date firmware should I be using with the channel list on this site reaper I will reflash with whichever you recommend and start from scratch using the list from here.

Firmware dated 19/8/2016 is ok---I'm installing on 5 boxes now but if going to use a channel list then use the one in the link provided above---I prefer not to use a channel list myself --I just edit into alphabetical order--delete the ones I don't need and work with that.

My v8 golden will not flash new firmware, it will never read file from USB any help please? Also I've noticed on open box website they do a cable channel list for v8 pro , what's difference between these boxes are they made by same company??
I've come from open box v8s to v8 golden the box is spot on just firmware and channel list problems , if wasn't for that these boxes would be perfect, oh and epg but I think that's firmware related . Any help would be great.

You cannot use the Openbox V8 Pro firmware or channel list from that openbox website.
It is not compatible with official boxes or V8 Golden.
When you download a firmware from Freesat.cn for your box, you need to open the download and you will see 2 files---change log and bin file---format a usb key to fat32 then only add the bin file to key.
Go to a fta channel, open menu--insert key and wait until a small box says usb inserted [something like that lol]--now go to tools and update firmware using all codes.

Thanks for fast reply mate . When I download file to my computer it reads it as a kodi file:( it says choose file to open with but I haven't a clue what to choose

OMG it's done it cheers buddy been trying a month lol ,I've got my channel list back but not my mgcam do I have to add it manually again?

Still can't get satellite epg working properly or XML epg

But still great value for money and great box

Yes re-add mgcamd and just leave epg on sat--------there is a choice in the menus for formats.
