personally,
use your supplied modem/router for your non VPN stuff,
and use the ASUS as simply a router for your VPN stuff
that way if you have any speed issues you can check via your supplied modem/router and if sky check the line they still see their supplied kit connected

Just a matter of connecting the new router into the old then?

well you have to disable the modem side of it first,
its not really a router, its a modem and router combined,
you need to set it up as simply a router first, which should be fairly simple tbh

I've got 5 TT supplied basic modem/routers being used as simple routers on my network,
so with a PROPER router I'm sure it will be a LOT easier to configure the correct settings

Hi mate quick question I got it all connected and it's working but I need to have an ethernet cable and wan cable connected to the sky hub and new hub is this correct?

you just need an ethernet cable from the original hub to a LAN port of your secondary router
some routers can be set-up as a wireless bridge though, so if you google yours it may be possible.

OK I think I have it sorted Internet is working from it great it was setup as Wireless Router Mode Media Bridge (other options were repeater mode and access point mode so hope I chose correct setup.

In settings of the router it says my vpn is working I chose PPTV settings but when I check my ip on a website etc it's showing my home so I'm almost there I guess.
