adding another cable box upstairs

i currently have a vu duo2 in the main room this has a hybrid cable tuner installed so only 1 cable feed is needed for watch 1 and record 1
i would like to add a box upstairs but not run any cables so wonder if this would work
not sure what box as yet but say the vu zero (i have spare zgemma h2s boxes if that would work?)
if i was to install another hybrid tuner into the duo2 and take a loop from the 1st output tuner to the new input on tuner 2 (does this work on the hybrid tuners?)
would this give me watch 1 record 3 if this was the case i could then connect the box upstairs via client? to share the info ect from downstairs
as worst case it could record 1 watch 1 downstairs and watch 1 upstairs giving me 1 space free on the tuner
internet connection would also be hardwired upstairs

i am not sure if i am over thinking this would work but any suggestions can only help

cheers

i think it would by using the loop through but get confirmation first on wos,if using client on another e2 receiver you would be using 1 less tuner on the duo2,not sure how advanced the zgemma is on image to have client but i have it running on my tm nano sat box.

Just setup a new install on the h2s wilobuild that has the client option in it and it works a treat but limits the duo2 tuners as I know it would so if I install another hybrid tuner do you think the loop would work or would it need another cable running from the splitter will also need to get my supplier to add extra lines for the added tuner once fitted can't really find alot about it online but don't want to order the tuner to find out it won't work as I want

i would imagine it should work on a loop through as et10000 can use loop through from one tuner to another but as i said check with wos.
extra line is the bit that confuses me as box only has 1 ip so do you need another line as i wont be running everything at once?

Confused.com !!

If you are trying to use a loop from a duo then you have to feed the new box
in another room, so you need to run a cable between both rooms anyway

So why not just use a splitter or have I missed something ?

The feed is done over the network so saves the need of running cable to other rooms I tested it just using the 1 hybrid tuner and works a treat but I will require 4 feeds 1 for main room to watch 1 and record 1 and another 2 feeds to upstairs bedrooms just to watch the upstairs bedrooms would only be to watch and not record so I belive if I added another hybrid tuner this gives me 4 feeds off 1 cable to the main box and then by setting up clients on the 2 boxes upstairs it should all work only thing I need to sort is with supplier so don't over do it off my orginal line

Sorry still not got my head around it, so I have a twin tuner in the living room
and a single tuner in the bedroom but without a cable feed.(used for IPTV at the mo)

So are you saying I can set up some type of "client" option so I don't need to cable up the bedroom box ?

The box I have downstairs is a duo2 with hybrid cable tuner so 1 cable in gives me watch 1 record 1 no issue I have 2 old zgemma h2s sat boxes but since sly went dark I have not renewed the sub so on them I have installed the newest build I could find once done go into the tuner and press yellow client mode then fill in the info just ip addy off the main box and turn the last option re epg and every 6 hrs and save it will reboot this then makes the h2s take a feed from the main box but uses a tuner up on it if a differnt transponder as you would expect all that is plugged in on the h2s is power hdmi and Internet connection no other cables sat or cable trust me it works well it also and also takes epg details off main box give it a try dead easy that's why I am looking to add another hybrid tuner and loop it worst case is I could add a 3 way splitter and run another cable to the new tuner witch tbh would be just as easy as the loop

will it moive your motorised dish on client mode?
or do you have to use the main box to move the dish?

Hi Baz2011uk if you've got a Duo2 it comes with a cable in the box, all I did to mine was add the rf adaptors to it and used that. It's convenient and short.

Lol just been in loft to dig the box out but looks like I binned it so gods knows where the cable went
