Vpn on smart tv IPTV

Apologies if discussed already, a quick search and I couldn’t find anything.

My epl matches are getting blocked almost every time these days which I know I’m not the only one...

However I signed up to a VPN to resolve this but it now seems I need an android box or fire stick to side load this onto my tv.

I don’t have either so my question really is do I have any other way of doing this without either of the above?

I have a laptop if that’s any use but not sure what way to go about doing it.

Thanks for reading

It's going to get complicated as you really either need the VPN on the same device that you have your IPTV on (Which you can't add to a Smart TV at present) or you need a VPN router.

Your 3 best options are probably; Buy a firestick, plug your laptop into your tv and watch football on that or it is possible to use your laptop as a VPN router and connect your TV wirelessly to that but I wouldn't suggest this way unless you have some idea of what you are doing

The best option is try to find a supplier who isn't getting blocked at present vpn routers can be expensive even with a vpn if it's supplier that's getting blocked it won't change a thing still get blocked it's if your isp is blocking you then you would need a vpn and wouldn't get blocked

I did have sibtv on 2 tv's but other than price (approx £5) there is nothing to recommend it. I find I get a better quaility picture, epg, and just about everything else from using a decent android box (£45) and the free stb emu. I also have iptv on kodi on the same box and alternate between the two. Then you can if you wish install a vpn on the box, pia up to 4 or 5 devices for about £30 per year and I notice very little drop in speed. I still agree with bazcfc1, try and find a supplier who isnt blocked. I should have mentioned in answer to the original question by the Dubliner, my daughter uses a laptop with a vpn and when she wants to watch an iptv programme she hooks it up to the tv via hdmi. Not ideal for everyone but very simple and the quality from a laptop is very good.
