Help!!!!

Hi there,
I have a Gemma H2H box and I was wondering if anyone can help a complete novice!!!
My dad always sorted our cable out from buying the box to installing everything that was needed.
Sadly he passed away in June and now that lots of the channels have vanished my hubby is pulling his hair out as the ashes are on and he's unable to watch it. My dad told me about this site and said if I needed help I should be able to get it from here somewhere.
Although I did watch what my dad did I didn't really take it in, is there a step by step guide anywhere or would anyone be so kind as to point me in the right direction???

Hi. Although you’re using a H.2H box you haven’t stated if you’re using This for satellite tv or cable.

As you’ve mentioned some of the channels are black I’d assume you’re using it for satellite?!

If so then there is nothing you can do about recovering the lost channels on that service so you have two options. If you can change to cable (VM) then by far this is the best solution. If not then the other way round it is IPTV both can be added to your box however you’ll need to look through this site in the various box sections to gain information on installing these services. Plenty of information available and pretty straight forward, help is always available. In addition you’ll also need an access line sub to make the channels viewable, again search the site and you’ll gain all the required information.

If you’re a complete novice to the scene I’d suggest reading as much information as you can, that way you’ll gain valuable information on how things work.

Sorry I should have given more info.
We are using the box for cable (vm) currently and from what I can remember I have a 12 month gift ( I think that's what my dad called it).
All channels are still showing on the list but it seems to be very hit and miss as to what channels we have.
I have tried reading as much as I can but terms like "flashing the box", I have no idea what this means.
I'm assuming that this is something I need to do but don't want to do something wrong and the box then be unusable!
I've looked on YouTube and there are lots of how to set up the box but not how to update or fix this problem.
Any help would be appreciated.

The channels that are hit and miss, is it that they’re freezing or glitching or sometimes not showing anything at all?

I’d first suggest you check all connections and cables to ensure they are properly connected.

Do you know what your current image or build is that you’re using on the box? Have you tried rescanning the channels to see if that yields a better result?

To rescan do the following.

Press menu on the remote then setup then service searching then autobouquetsmaker then start scan.

It should then say reading Vermin UK.

Once complete exit all menus and then press menu then standby and restart then restart. Once booted up see what happens with the channels.

We can try and diagnose the issue in the easiest way first before we get to the more in depth aspects.
