Hi, i got iptv using openatv 6.1 image on a vu+ se box. When stream sometimes it freezes, I click off channel and everythings fine again for a while. On my Android box using same line i would get a slight buffer, which wasn't a problem, is there any settings to change this?

Could be a few things causing frezing,Broadband speed slow,Wifi or hard wired connection,Server related,What method is being used on your box to run iptv

Not sure what type of IPTV you are using but try this.
Try changing your player to exteplayer3 in the Service App which can be found via Menu - Usage And Gui.
If the service app is not there, you need to download it. Press Green, then green again to download plugins and its in extensions I think.

Once you've located/downloaded the service, change the player in the service app menu from the native player to exteplayer3.
If you are using xtream editor, change player type from DVB/IPTV to EXTEPLAYER (50002)

Thanks i will try this. Do i need to change any settings in service app as well apart from changing to ext 3. When my picture freeezes its normally when a advert starts which is strange

Just change ext3.

My box doesn't stall on adverts but I've a second sub in another room running on smart IPTV app and it also freezes on adverts. Strange but not doesn't bother me too much.

Ads freezing is a source issue. I used to have it, switched provider, issue went away.

Do you have a VPN set up?
My subs have stated stuttering horrendously when the VPN is engaged despite very little drop off in internet speed

If your problem is on two different devices is the same provided supplying the subscription to both? If it is why dont you try a different provided on trial and see if problem goes away.

Try turning off your router for a full thirty minutes. This will start a new session with your ISP and will clear out any bugs you may have in your current session.
