I have dragged several .ipk files over ftp to tmp folder, but they install 0 files and upgrades. Im stumped. Do i really have to re-flash?

install linuxsat panel and then download any cam you want from there. Find it on the net and drop it into the temp file on your box. Use the blue button to install the ipk and then you will have a choice of what ever cams you want. Either that your look for a ipk to install the softcam feed for openatv images.

download this one, place into tmp folder, install through software management then check your plugins, all will be there for you mate.

Try this m8..i'm sure this is for the ATV image

tried those. i drag and drop the ipk file into the temp folder, go to software management and install extensions, but it shows that it has installed "0" packages

I don't know why people are so averse to reflashing their box.
you need:
a formatted usb stick
your netid
your line
last time i flashed my box, it took me less than 20 minutes from inserting the usb to being completely finished, why spend days arsing around with it?

You have to FTP the ipk file into temp, i don't think you can drag & drop [ can you ] ??
yeah im dragging the ipk file into the tmp folder in filezilla

im dragging it over, because it is not allowing me to copy and paste as there is no directory

Had to reflash in the end. Sorted now.

Thanks to everyone for your advice.
I dont know what happened. My line had expired and the ccam feed disappeared altogether so i couldn't enter a new C-line, no way would it allow me to upload an ipk file to reinstall the feed. In extensions it saw the ipk file but unpacked "0" files (and i tried numerous .ipk files). So i installed an N-line on the mgCamd 1.38, but that didn't work either. The box just seemed to be playing up

But after reflash its all ok - some kind of glitch maybe
