tune failed

You dont need to remove anything, just go to the wooshbuild infinity installation page and follow the instructions. Flashing the box removes everything that was there before. Make sure you have a copy of your line for reinstalling later
Can i just ask if i did install wooshbuild would it still recognize my recordings on my external hard drive when i installed it

I've never recorded anything in my life so I don't know, sorry. @wooshman will know the answer to this or maybe someone else who records a lot of stuff.
I've never found anything worth recording yet

Yes it will. Enigma2 records and stores the files in the same way regardless of openATV, ViX, openPli etc so whatever is on your drive now can be watched.

Thank you for that info really helps, can i just ask i see in your reply you say all recordings will play regardless of openATV or VIX.
So my H2S box uses openvix so do i need to flash the box with openATV first before installing the wooshbuild infinity, are those operating systems to run the sofware a bit like windows or Mac?

Sort of, yes.

Lunix is the underlying OS, Enigma2, as I understand it, is the software which communicates with the hardware such as tuners etc but I think is actually a linux image in it's own right. openATV, openPli, ViX and all the others then bring everything together with a user interface and lots of calls to Enimga2. Clear as mud eh?! I could be wrong but do think I am on the right tracks.

Yes, at the moment you need to flash openATV to then install Infinity as I have not had time to play with the ViX side yet, but did say right from the launch of Infinity that it is on the list of tings to do. One day I will find time.

Ok so just a little more help please if you dont mind... ive downloaded the openATV 6.1 for my box, then i extracted the files. So do i now just drag and drop the whole file that extracted on to my usb stick, or do i open that file and drag the file thats inside which is called zgemma on to the usb stick?
Or do i click and open that file, where i find another file named h3, and even inside this file are lots of individual files named imageversion, kernel.bin ect? hope you understand what i mean?
Basically do i just drag and drop the whole file openatv6.1 which was extracted from the zip file?

as I understand it, *nix is the kernel, E2 the OS, and ATV/VIX etc is the GUI

No this would say that you may have a problem with your box has if one works and one doesn't its not the LNB. Could be your power lead failing if you have a spare to check had this happen a few times with zgemma power lead failure.
OMG guys the box has been working then not working last 24hrs showing tune failed.
It also seemed to happen after i watched something on my harddrive, when i had finished watching the recording and exited out the screen would be black and got the message.
I was going to flash the box and install wooshbuild infinity but wasn't confident. Just reading through some posts and one guy said he'd changed the power lead and also nicoj24 had recommended this earlier, well used the lead from my talk talk box and cant believe it, just works fine again now have tried watching a recording and exit out and is still working crazy if the problem is this :emoji_scream:

so did it flash ok then?
if you are having problems, let us know, my nails are down to the bone here:grin:
LOL hiya mate... no i didn't flash it... i wasn't brave enough, but i would like to change to Wooshbuild in the future.
Hopefully i just need to replace the mains power lead and we can save your nails, just looked on the Zgemma store but they don't seem to sell replacement mains leads.

Can I just say to anyone who is fearful, or apprehensive about flashing a zgemma, or any other enigma box:
I flashed a H2h, (which is basically a H2s), eight times in one day. yes EIGHT times, eight different builds
The following day i flashed it a further 3 times, I needed to do this because at least half of the flash files i downloaded were the wrong files, this is a few years back.
The boxes today are the same boxes - you can flash them every day if you like - they don't wear out, you can't break them by flashing them - there is nothing you can do that will render it useless by putting a new build on it, flashing a zgemma, or any enigma box is as problematic as drinking a glass of water and takes about the same length of time. If you flash it with something and it doesn't work, flash something else - these things can be flashed 5000 times without worry!
Don't spend days or weeks farting about in an attempt to save yourself a few minutes, - people see flashing as a 'last resort' - as if it's a life changer - it's a few minutes and you've got a new build, like going from Windows 95 to windows 10 in ten minutes, and if you don't like it, you can flash something else

That's a Great Post Pablo... and it really doe's give us less technical guys a lot of confidence and encouragement that we can do it.
Would love the equivalent of Windows 10 on my box... Thank you
