PS4 Faulty PS4 controller

PS4 controller will not switch on, light up etc, even when charging.

Tested the cable, PS4 ports, with a 2nd controller and that's all fine, so I know the controller is at fault.

Took the controller apart and can see the battery, it is worth changing that or is the cost alone not worth it?

Anyone had a similar fault?

I've seen batteries going for from £4 on flee Bay and 10.99 on amazon may be worth it if you know how to change them I'm not familiar with PlayStation but that's price I've seen them going for
