2 Boxes from one line

Hi

I am running a Blade and F5 box off one line.

The server advertises that it's fine to run two boxes if they
are on the same IP.

However, if I only have one on at a time
it's fine, which to be honest i'm expecting that will
be the case 90% of the time.

But if I switch both on at the same time the blade
starts glitching, freezes and goes to scrambled.

Is there any settings for either box I need to use
to sort out this problem or is this just normal.

Thanks for any help

1. Make sure your boxes are using DHCP & getting different internal IP (LAN) addresses
2. Make sure you have adequate bandwidth from your internet provider & no heavy usage from other devices or P2P activities going on.
3. Some CS providers allow two boxes from the same external (WAN) IP by default but some require specific requests to do this so they can enable & monitor these customers.

Ok, had a bit of a check through the set up,

Both boxes, using DHCP, both boxes using the same
"computer" IP.

Boxes have slightly different IPs,
(one digit out between the boxes)

Blade now fine showing 98% signal.
No glitching.

F5 showing 73-75% (SNR) guessing thats
my signal. Slight glitching.

(Doesn't increase when running F5 only, but picture
is glitch free on any single box)

It was the other way around the other day though ???

It doesn't seem too bad tonight, seems to depend
on what pair of channels I've got selected for some reason.

So my set up seems to be correct from the advice posted.

I will just keep checking on it over the next week or so
to see how it is.

Thanks for the help, at least i'm not completely
in the dark anymore.

Yes its fine to have 2 boxes running the same line "BUT" not at the same time i dont allow that so this is prob the reason you are having problems, dont be surprised if they cut you off and you will have no recourse on this.

I'm checking with the server what the score is
and if what i'm doing is OK

Was just thinking along the lines of recording on one
and watching another although it not likely to happen
very often.

They dont like that m8 as they are losing money that way, what they will tell you is to either buy another line at a reduced rate.

Great stuff still feel you have problems running the same line at the same time on two boxes.
