2009 535d horn not working...

Evening all!

Right I have an issue with my 535d, the horn suddenly stopped working and MOT is looming.

I've tried the horn fuse - thats fine. The fuse connectors on the fuse box sees voltage - good.
I removed the horns and applied 12v current and they sounded ok. I've put a multimeter on the horn connectors and had a helper press the horn - no power.

What else can I test, what could this be?

ok i presume horns are live feed and fuse chart lists one or 2 fuses,any mention of horn relay?

Ok here are the wiring diagrams for my car, no mention of a relay...





As you can see from this image, you have horn switch, into the steering column switch centre and then directly to the horns.. I've tested the airbag connections, steering wheels connections and tried a spare working column switch centre... still no joy..
