5000s and Ext HDD - what size and format?

I have my BM5000s setup and it seems to be working fine. I have a 2TB powered usb drive knocking about but i can't get the 5000s to recognise it. Is 2tb too big? Does it only support Fat? Any advice?

My 16gb kingston is working fine for timeshift and epg but it won't last long if I want to record anything.

After some testing and contacting Blade direct it seems the chipset has only been tested with up to a 1TB drive.
