Average signal % for VM lines

Hello fellow Techking members,

Just a quick one. Whats the average SNR % people are getting? Ive had anything from 74% to then drop down to 61%?

When i dont use the 6db attenuator that ive had in use for well over a year it hovers around the 70 mark, when i put it on it hovers around the 60 mark.

Picture quality is perfect, no glitching et but my line has started to freeze an awful lot recently and has become unwatchable, Provider says its not his end and must be my connection but nothing has changed and no cables have been moved etc.

Any possible ideas other than changing provider?

I always get 37.0db and 73% snr but thats on a zgemma, not sure if it report the actual snr correctly on a zgemma,

If your struggling with freezing try a test line to prove it one way or the other.

check power levels:
on the side or bottom of the router there should be a 'settings password'
type 192.168.0.1 into a browser and click enter, use that password to log into the router

advanced settings
tools>network status> click on downstream tab
copy and paste the snr and dbmv data here

just go onto 192.168.0.1
scroll down the page a bit you will see "check router status" click on this...
this also shows downstream

It wont show anything while your in modem mode, just checked mine on a super hub 3,
You need to be in router mode to display the downstream data.

In modem mode its 192.168.100.1

My bad, didn't see check router status at the bottom of the page, just logged in,

Downstream data is there, mine is 38.9 to 40.9,

what's the power levels like as these have a large bearing on the box freezing etc
they should be between -6 and +10

Thats why i have issues next to the router, my cable feed is split outside, one feed goes into my zgemma no issues, the second feed goes to the router in the back of the house, if i split that connection i hardly get a picture, does it need a booster ??

why are you splitting it again?
do you have several boxes?
you may need a powered splitter as you lose a good percentage of the signal each time it's split

I was putting a box in the back room for the kids, but it was unwatchable,

Tried a Konig 28db power splitter but it didn't make enough difference,

Just checked again my dBmV settings are 0.2 to 2.9
Its my snr signal thats at 38.9 to 40.9

Looks like i will need to get the spare box out and try again

Nothing wrong with those, all dbmv levelas are between -6 and 10 and your snr are all over 38
