bandwidth a skybox f3 uses anyone no ?

just when i go on holiday i want to take it to caravan im just wondering what it would use through a dongle even though its just a text file being sent and recieved i would say about 500mb per month if ur telly was left on constant 24 hours a day over a month
 
and how long is the box left on to use 5mb ? im just thinking of putting a 3 gig dongle in lappy then sharing connection
 
The internet usage is not a problem, its not
very much.

The problem is speed, I took mine in a caravan
last summer, 3 network had good coverage.
T mobile was hit and miss.

But the speed seemed to be a bit too slow
and I got glitching. The channels cleared
but the sound kept stuttering and picture
glitched as the data came through.

4G is out this year though so I will
have another pop at it this summer.

It wasn't that far off last year
but I'm pretty sure it was down to speed.
 
One thing u could do if u no where your going look up what mobile network is the best there i used a 3network dongle and it was fine
 
There is a coverage checker here
but as you can see, when your sat in a field
somewhere in wales then it doesn't look
like its been rolled out that far yet.

What was your set up ?

I was using a blade, and dongle plugged into a travel router
and ethernet between router and blade.3 network dongle.
 
basically mate just plug dongle into laptop then ethernet from laptop to back of the skybox f3 when i had no internet its how i ran my xbox lol even though there was alot of lag as ping rate was low
 
Only had a works lap top at the
time thats why I went for the router.

Got my own now so I can try it that
way but can't see it making much
difference.
 
They wanted £5 a day for wifi,
Was away for four weeks.
Thats why I tried the dongle method
