Hi all,

I am new to the whole satellite receiver market and was wondering were to begin. Im wanting to get involved and setup my own box and have readup about openbox, dreambox, miraclebox and was wondering which is the best for beginners. HD and recording is essential. I have messed around with apple/android tv and always felt confident but i believe this is a step up and would love to get some help.

basically what model is for me? and i can go from there :)

Best to start off with a cheap box like a cloud ibox 2+se or i can defiantly recommend the Zgemma s2 for a twin tuner..
Enigma 2 boxes vary in set up but generally follow the same lines,stick to simple set up images like openvix or openatv.
Plenty of help available here to get you sorted.
 
I'm new to this game too & have just bought an openbox v8s. Seems really good for the price apart from the EPG takes a little getting used to!
 
As padder says, you won't get HD on satellite (not at 28.2e anyway) apart from a handfull of HD $ channels.

If HD is essential, then it will have to be cable.
