Black screen flickering ? static interference

Hi folks,

need some advice, my box seems to flicker a black screen when the fridge kicks in or if the wife is using hairdryer, i'm convinced her mobile causing it too. I spoke to the electrician as thought it was an electrical fault but says this is due to static and the box or tv would have to get moved. Has anyone experienced this if so is there a quick fix or is he right and the box/tv will have to get moved.

Are you using homeplugs ?
Worst case a fault on your ring main, loose wire somewhere !

But probably just a faulty wire to the box. Probably the power cable rather than internet
or you would keep getting "scrambled / no signal" errors.

I agree with bobby, sounds like an electrical problem, don't see
how it can be static.
 
Have a direct cable into my router, no home plugs or wi-fi, I learnt the hard way. Got the house decorated and the tv mounted to wall with hidden cables - looks real nice but when we switch the cooker on or lamp on we get a black sreen for <1sec, also if hairdryer on it flickers. I have been on at the guy for weeks and he keeps tellin me its normal and if we want to get rid we will have to move th tv. Al have to get a spark in that knows what their doin!
