Is there a way of checking the incoming signal strength and quality on tuner 2 (cable) with a Blade 7000 Combo?

Yes mate, go to channel search, tuner2, manual scan, scroll down to frequencies pick one and then your green and yellow bars will be there giving you the strength and quality

Thanks for the information.

When using qam256 the levels are around 78% and quality 82%, when using the qam64 setting the level is 82% and quality 25%.
The signal quality is not constant and keeps pulsating on both qam settings between 0% to 82%, is this normal for cable?

All my frequencies on 256 and 64 have signal Strength 78-79 and quality 82-83

That's with no splitters on the line

Thanks,

Do yet get the pulsating signal quality when on tuner 2 (see video)? with satellite it's a steady reading.

Yes I do get the pulsating, as for your poor quality on 64 I think your on the wrong frequency

Put in on manual scan.......

643.0
06.887
64
then scan
and

635.0
06.887
64
then scan
and

651.00
06.887
64
then scan
and

659.0
06.887
64 then scan

They are the 4 Qam64 running on mine, the rest of the frequencies are on Qam256's

These settings brought the signal quality back up to 82%

The symbol rate for my area is however 6.952 and not 6.887 (like your area). When I carried out the full scan to find all available channels 6.952 S/R was used. The problem that I have is that some of the HD channels are glitching, so if like FreeUk is stating that the Qam64 are for the SD channels perhaps this isn't my issue?

Qam 64 is used on very few channels, Qam 256 is used on both SD/HD as is Qam 64

Please could you suggest another frequency for me to check the qam 64 setting?
Have a look for a area NetID list, look for your area some have a Qam 64 included on the list or post your area NetID some on here maybe able to help
Some channels that use Qam 64 there's not that many
108 BBC One HD
113 ITV 1 HD
300 VTV Music on Demand SD
400 VM Movie Preview SD

Your images show that the same TP is being used both 64.256 Qams, a TP use either 64 or 265 not both

A scan using both 64/265 Qams will find what your looking for, Menu/Installation/Channel Search/Scan Mode = Power Scan/Qam Size = Qam 64/256, lower the step if needed but scan will take longer
