BM5000s vs BM7000s

hi guys and gals, i've been driving myself crazy trying to decide which box to get the 7000s or the 5000s, if you had no budget (i've also seen an open box 7000s for £115) which would you get? i know the 5000s is newer model, but which is the best? tia

At the mo BM7000s beats the 5000 box because of the 7 day EPG,
and that has a knock on effect to the timer recording feature.

But it's a new box and I am told the 7 Day Epg will be along soon for the 5000.

So it's up to you, do you pay £150 for tried and tested or £80 and trust they will deliver the goods.

Personally, I think they will deliver in the next few weeks, but that is only my opinion.

(I have both boxes by the way).

thnx mate that's pretty much what i thought from reading the info on here ;) from the tech point of view there seem to be some video decoding diff avc level 4.0 vs 4.1 for the new box. would you say that upto £200 its a good bet, as thats my budget. it won't be a multi sat setup just used for sky

Don't know what you need as far as set up goes

But these are some ball park prices, for kit

Zone 2 fixed dish £25
Reel of cable and clips £15
Homeplugs (only required if your router and box are in different rooms) £25
Subs for a year £75 - 100 (renewed every 3 months)
Box of your choice, £50 - £300

cheers for the info, i dived in and bought the 5000s ;) now the fun begins finding a quality server and getting the box configured :)
