Can i run virmin cable through bt broadband

Im sure this is a silly question but my brother is after a twin dvb-c tuner box to buy, he is in an area that only picks up sly, and bt unlimmited broadband only, would i need a different box with a dvb-s2 instead?

Virmin cable only available through vm broadband.
