Check if I have cable?? Help

Just wanted to know because I really want to get cable TV, how can I tell if the tenant previously to me ever had cable so I don't have to ring up a landlord and check if it's okay to get a cable line installed?, im not very good when it comes to knowing the difference between a satellite and a cable feed, someone help? What is it I have to look for

Generally a Brown coloured external box on the outside of the property and inside you should have another box white in colour with a feed coming out of it

If you have a tenancie agreement with your Landlord , all the information should be on that like gas , electricity ,bt, virgin , sky etc .
