Couple of questions about tuner/abm setup

I am fairly new to cable boxes and have a couple of questions about setting up cable tuners and abm:

1. Do you need to set the net ID in both abm and tuner configuration or does it just need to be set in abm? I have been setting it in both but do I need to?

2. I've set a few up now but all in my own area and as well as the Net ID, have set 'provider to scan' in tuner configuration to 'Virmin Media UK (Pure)', would this work in all area's or does this change depending on the area you are in?

1. Just ABM
2. It should work with any vm UK provider option but I did spot it doing something on a box via Teamviewer once till we picked the right one but I'll be damned if I can remember! Wasn't major though I'm sure.

Some just put the netid just in abm I put it in both incase a manual scan is needed ie when a channel changes name on vm it doesn't seem to change like sky does so I delete all abm bouquets and do a manual scan then rerun abm
