Drilling Indian Slate

Has anyone had experience of drilling holes in Indian slate slabs.

You will need to use an sds or water cooled drill and just go slow

Go slow keep wetting the area your drilling

Make sure your sds isnt on hammer aswell

bosch make some decent muti function drill bits for use in standard drills (tip is not to force it ,let the bit do the work)

Had no experience with indian slate but drilled through some tough brick and concrete in my time

We'll have managed to drill8 holes so far no breakage need to put a small pilot hole 8 mm to stop blowing back out spray water bottle on drill at all times. Then 14mm to complete hole you will not touch the slab unless you have drill on hammer I have a dewalt with a gentle hammer pushing as light as I can 30 to go yea sounds like my wife as well.
