dual cable tuner help

hi guys, i'm a bit confused to what i need to set up dual cable tuners on et xtrend 8000 box. at the mo i got 2-way splitter one to the xtrend and the other to my router, am i right in thinking i just change the 2-way for a 3-way splitter? cheers.

Yes or run the out from tuner 1 into the in on tuner 2, this method uses the "loop" functionality and works fine

using the loop method will i be able to view all other channels in hd while recording?

Yes, the Xtrend even comes with small "loop" cables to allow you to do that, check in the box.

So using the loop method, do I still scan both tuners and will there be two channel lists in ABM.

No one scan will do, just set up ABM with the correct providers/netid and use that

I use a splitter but have used both ways without issue

I spoke to someone the other day and he said that the loop method would not let me view that many other channels when recording.

I asked about using the loop to run a feed from one cable box to a second cable box in a different room the other
day and was advised to use a splitter instead. :whistling:
