DVB-S2 / DVB-S2 FBC / DVB-S2X

Looking to add a new sat box but not sure what's best tuner wise. Feel like I should be choosing between FBC and S2X for future proofing but not really any clearer after trying to read up on it.

Is there any real advantage to either just now or in future?

Looking at viewing options on 28.2E, 19.2E, possibly 13E, 5W & 30W.

For FBC would I need to replace my LNB(s). Are there any channels only available via FBC? For S2X can I keep my existing LNB(s). Can S2X pull channels that FBC can't and vice-versa? Assume both are fully backwards compatible with DVB-S and DVB-S2?

I've got a single cable FBC tuner in my Vu+ Uno 4K which in effect gives me 8 virtual tuners.

It works differently on satellite. I've got a twin FBC sat tuner in my GigaBlue UHD Quad 4K.
This equates to 2 standard satellite tuners and a further 6 virtual tuners in loop through mode.

I'm not positive about S2X but I think they are more sensitive so better for weak signals.

Thanks Willo. Would I be right in saying that S2X might be better in a multi-LNB set-up for the LNBs that are not centre to the dish?

Possibly but I may be entirely wrong. I know they're supposed to very fast at zapping channels and more sensitive.

I'm not sure about future proofing a sat box as even sly are going down the dishless route now so tbh I think in the future everything will be probably be through the internet not through a dish, but who knows.
