There is a power switch on the back of the os mini.
You sure you haven't got a mini + and you're trying to flash mini firmware on it?

No it a Edison Os Nino, it a brand new box

I have the same box, IF its not flashing on powering up the box then one of the following is causing your problem:

the box isnt reading the USB (usb needs prep before being used to flash)
the image is not loaded on the usb correctly (still zipped or wrong files loaded)
its not the correct image for the box (use an image for the Nino)

usb prep is key & many mess this up, some good threads with step by step guides that explain usb prep in detail available on this site.

hddguru is my choice of software to prep usb's although others work just as well
