When I edit the newcamd.lst - do I just need to to change Line 5 with my line information - if so, what are the other 4 lines for ?

CWS_KEEPALIVE = 300
CWS_INCOMING_PORT = 21000
CWS = 192.168.1.1 20000 dummy dummy 10 02 13 04 15 06 17 08 01 10 11 12 13 14 lan server1
CWS_MULTIPLE = 192.168.1.2 20000:20005 dummy dummy 10 02 13 04 15 06 17 08 01 10 11 12 13 14 lan server2
CWS = {my info}

thanks

Mine looks like this:-
CWS_KEEPALIVE = 300
CWS_INCOMING_PORT = 21000
CWS = myserver dot com username 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14
CWS_MULTIPLE = myserver dot com username 192.168.1.2 20000:20005 dummy dummy 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14

I believe Line 1 (Keep Alive) basically tells your box to contact the server at set intervals to stop glitching or black out of channels.
Line 2 (Port) just identifies a port on your router to receive the data from the server.
Line 3 and 4 on mine are my 2 lines of code for the 2 N lines I pay for - they will send you the relevant code you need. If you only have one N line from your provider, you may only need to complete line 3 and get rid of line 4 (MULTIPL)

Not sure what all this lan 1 and lan 2 are on your example, but I don't have them and my line works ok.

As bees said you dont need the other guff, just paste your lines and it should work, CWS_KEEPALIVE is for when you go to an un-encryted channel this is the time the server keeps your connection alive for clearing open after you you go to a freesat channel

The line is broken down into four main parts

Server
Port
User
Pass

The other number 01 02 03 .....14 are the deskey

look at the spaces in the line, you can see from there. (y)

So the reason I was looking into my newcamd file was because I'm getting a "tune Failed" message on non free to air channels - I presumed this was due to the line not being set up correctly

Is there a way I can check the line is up and running other than trying to show S*Y1 ?

Is there another reason for me getting the tune failed message - do I need to do a rescan?

So have you got a picture on the FTA channels ?

Tune failed shouldn't have anything to do with your line.

It should be your tuner isn't configured properly to 28.2
or your dish could be out of wack, or a connector problem, something like that.

If your line isn't working you will get a blank screen on any pay channel.

But you will need to sort the tuner problem out first.

If your line is working, obviously you will get a picture, but if you press ok
twice on the remote it will display the server details.

hmm got the same issue with an nline and it looks like as above

CWS = myserver dot com username 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14 and not worked added this in front
CWS_KEEPALIVE = 300
still not working showing??
