Hi guys,

I work for a chalet company in France and im wanting to get wifi into one of the staff rooms. I have a router in an apartment around the corner. I was thinking of running a Cat5 cable from the router, around the side of the building and then into a wifi repeater outside of the room so they can connect laptops/ipads through wifi. It's a 18th century building and the walls are super thick!

Would this work?

The thickness does matter, but the actual building material is more important. The more dense the material, such as brick, stone, concrete, or metal, the more interference they provide. Otherwise, I see no reason why it would not work.

look into getting a ubiquiti nanostation, excellent range and power and very good price, excellent product for what you need
