f5 box causing me hassle

Im pretty new to the skybox F3,F5, I recentley purchased an F5 box but when I proceeded to update the channel listings from a file I got online it initially didnt work, so then i proceeded to put the old channel list back on and everything went well untill it came the the point where i had to turn the box on and off. Since then the F5 box has been stuck on load and wont come off, I cant access any of the boxes menus or do anything with it for that matter. Im at my witts end now, Can any of you guys please provide me with some info on how to bring the box back to life? would be very much appreciated

You may need to recover it then if you cant
access any of the menus, the info is here
Don't overlook the "full handshaking" null modem cable.

bit too technical for me, dont know where to get a serial cable like that from or how to make one for that matter, I think il just try and take it back to the retailer and maybe blag him to swop it for me ha, but many , many thanks for the info bees

can anybody elaborate on what a full handshaking null modem cable is..... sorry to be a nuisance and if you can purchase one or wether you have to make it yourself?

not sure but at a guess a null modem cable is used to flash kryptview cable boxes with firmware through a serial port/rs232 ,and on other boxes that are flashed with usb and get stuck, the null modem cable is you backdoor into box to reflash

You don't really need all the technical details,
You just need the correct cable.

Basically, if you have got the wrong type of null modem cable
the data won't transfere. They physically look identical.
(The pins are wired in a slightly different order at each end, depending on the type)

The different types are mentioned here
