    Hi guys,

From the offset - I'm very happy with my current provider.

When I was looking for providers I found a lot to be glitchy, freezing, looping etc.

My hardware is a humble Firestick running STB emu.

My question is: is there such a thing a glitch free IPTV? Even at peek times like a major sporting event...?

There are good providers, and bad.
Choice is vast .. Trial and error.
But perfect iptv 100% does not exist.
Just like sky or virgin their not perfect.

mine is pretty good it dose glitch from time to time nothing to really worry about. on the ppv events it is always good as my provider normally provides about 3 hd links and one sd.

The thing i find in football season if i turn over to watch a match it will play up so i change channel then back to the football and it is fine. perfect no but a good 9 out of 10

I use mine for sport only and only US sport channels and BT sport and it's perfect 99 times out of 100.

I learnt that if you want IPTV for all your TV, then you will be disappointed.

There are plenty of other ways of getting Sly channels without paying Sly/Virgin prices and without using IPTV.

IPTV for all your TV viewing is a disaster waiting to happen.

90% of our family viewing is freeview.
    Kids had Mags @ uni
My 322 is perfect for in garage whilst tinkering on.. like DT99 said I would not be reliant on iptv as main source for tv..

Purfect iptv here at a tenner a month on Fibre via sky getting around 50 ish speed wise.
Enigma2 box via extreme editor with 5 days catchup and massive vod collection. No vpn, as this has been sorted server end
Any issues on the server side via any channels are always sorted quick and always new channels Inc recently added world cup in all fhd .
PPV gets added on the night with fhd too mostly.
Why the frook would I want to pay sly or bt for a package.
There are suppliers who care and want to help along with providing what they advertise.
Just need to test test test and main importance here, having the right equipment and Internet

@dt99 and @stuss , If you can't be civil, button it. If the other bothers you with what they post, just pass on by.
I am sick and tired of these bickering matches, and will ban to get my message across, if it doesn't stop.
I am not talking about only you two, I am also talking in general.

I think IPTV is pretty good now,it's just finding the right provider.I,ve not had any issues for the last few months, and Yes you do get the odd glitch but you get that with any service.

Quick question to very knowledgable guys.

Is my fire stick enough? Should I seek an Ethernet connected hardware - formuler box, mag or similar?

I appreciate your advice in advance

Fire stick is enough to run IPTV, if you have a 2nd gen version then you can buy an ethernet adaptor.......wired is always considered to be better.

Personally, I find the firesticks slow and clunky, but this is just my preference.

Purchase either a Formuler Z7+ or the slighter cheaper model Zx
Or, if you want a simple easier & ready to go more or less, Mag 322
I would stay away from the firesticks, i personally think they are poor and lack any sort of Power etc & Memory.
Spend that little extra & get a better device to do the job correct.

    Good Luck

A firestick will just about do the job. if you can afford £62.00 buy a mag 322 with a good supplier you will have very few problems. As @dt99 has mentioned firesticks are very slow compared to other stuff out there.

I have a supplier that doesnt sell into UK anymore. They offer extremely good quality channels rarely a glitch (rarely doesnt mean no glitch). The pure proper FHD channels need a good box so yes it is worth upgrading to a new Mag or whatever. Many suppliers have diluted quality channels and if you are ok with that they will run fine on a fire stick. Horses for courses.

Not all resellers are bad,it's just a case of finding the right one.

Exactly, not all re-sellers are bad, but it's practically impossible to find a direct seller.....most people, if not all are re-sellers.

Not necessarily... Most times, the reseller will give lazy reasons, because that's what they've been given by the server admins... Because the server admins are too lazy to fix the problem straight away...

However, if you get a reseller (and you need a competant reseller, not just someone who's out there just to make a quick pound without knowing anything technical about it all), who has a good server admin, who is on the ball and listens to the resellers and customers, then you will be fine...

Exactly... Think of how much it costs to set up their own servers... First off, you need to have the main server. This needs to be a beast of a machine, with unlimited bandwidth (and also fast connection), with ideally a couple of load balancers... You'll also need another server to create your catch-up streams... Then, you need the xtream codes software to run this. Then you need to get all the feeds you want, which is more money...

So, just to set up, you would be talking a few £k's... Not many people have the initial outlay to spend that much without a guarantee of getting the money back... Then, this outlay is also going to have to be a monthly expenditure... So you need to ensure you have a large enough customer base to continue to pay it monthly...

The good suppliers buy the feeds then host them on there own servers which costs money.I use this type of supplier but it dose cost a little more.
