This upgrade is no longer required, new firmware is "full flash"
and doesn't require the upgrade.

Just use the tutorial, after flashing put a pen drive in your box.

Press EPG on your remote then (red) download button for the 7 Day EPG

Timer recording information is still correct.

First a big thanks to Fezzer for supplying the files.

Please note this is an "upgrade"

First you will need to follow the tutorial here

Flash the first firmware with the 9991 option, do a channel search and enter your line details.

Then follow this to get the 7 Day EPG, it is a two stage thing.

Download the Firmware from Blade Media - Downloads - TechKings

Unzip it.

You should have two files and a folder.

Put them on a USB stick

Load them onto your box in the same way as the tutorial shows here

Menu - Setup - Update & Backup - Image Upgrade

Select the ".ssu" file and let it flash the new firmware.

The box will reboot.

Press EPG button on the remote the Red button (EPG Download)

Press OK and wait for it to load.

You should now have a 7 Day EPG.

To use the timer recording function, browse the the program you want to record

Use the yellow (Book) button to select the program

Scroll down to OK to save the setting

When you exit out you will see a red dot highlighting the program you are set to record.

The BM7000s boots from standby 1 minute before the recording
is due to start, so you don't miss the start of the program.

I know that Skyboxes start to boot on the time set for recording, and by the time
it's up and recording it can miss the start of the program.

I haven't had chance to check this one out yet. But if it is the same as the skybox you
may want to edit the start time by a couple of minutes so you don't have the problem.

Just checked and BM5000s boots like the BM7000s when recording so you shouldn't
need to mess with the start time.

Yeah very happy, it's pretty basic looking, but it is very quick, overall
what a cool box for the price.

Somebody mentioned the picture quality wasn't as good as the BM7000s
but I changed the setting to 1080p in the menu and can't see any difference
between them.

i downloaded and installed this file and comparing it to the official file released on the Blade support page it is no different apart from giving us the 9991 option too. thanks for uploading bees (y)

A friend set the box up for me using your initial guide and put the line in etc all working great. If I update the firmware for the epg as stated above does this wipe all the settings and it will need re-doing?

Many thx bees .. Took mi 10 times to sorted it lol..

I changed the usb to another 1 and all worked fine lol..

Just need to sort all mi FAVS out now ;)

Cracking work ;)

You may want to read this thread here

Unfortunately, some members have been having a few problems with the 7 Day EPG firmware.

If you have problems the 9991 is stable and no issues have been reported, we are waiting on an update on the EPG firmware
hopefully we will here something soon.

I have had one glitch since running it, I'm still using it at the mo, so fingers crossed !!

Big thanks to @bees for these tutorials.

Got everything up an running pretty easily!

1 reboot, going from epg, select blue and tried to switch fav. now I select fav first, select your category and the first channel then press epg.

Cheers
