Hardware Issues, Do I Open?

Does anybody here know much about the internal hardware of these boxes? The front power switch has stopped working on mine and recon it should be as simple as cracking the box open and lining it back up but I want a second opinion first. Will I just brick my box if I open it up? It's useless to me anyway if I can't turn it on so do I really have anything to loose? Any advice on this would be appreciated.

you will void any warranty once you open the box but then you probably know that, I have had a look around in these & they are pretty basic so IF you are confident taking things apart you wont have much of an issues getting your head round these. As to powering up will the box not turn on via the rear power button? I use this to turn them off/on otherwise I leave them on permanently & turn the TV set off at night.
