Have a DIY go at installing motorised dish

I think I will try to install a 1.15m motorised dish maybe as early as this weekend.
I know I will need the help and patience of this wonderful community to get my Vu+ Solo up and running

This is the dish I was going to use:

On this mount:

http://www.systemsat.co.uk/wall-mounts/550mm-wall-mount-bracket-galvanised-steel-55cm.html

With 1 of the following motors:

http://www.systemsat.co.uk/satellite-motor.html

And which of these LNB's would you go for?

http://www.systemsat.co.uk/single-lnb.html

Thanks for any advice given, and wish this novice good luck

Do you think TK brackets are stronger than "L" mounts?
2 inch l bracket has six fixing holes I use thunder bolts I had to use t.k.brackets as.i.had to mount the dish on the back wall in the garden l also use a.digital level with a magnetic base

shoulda plumbed it a bit better, ;)

FWIW
I have an L bracket for my dish [ 1m ] , if I ever get round to getting it up,
but, I've made a top bracket for it out off some UNISTRUT , I have loads of it kicking around, I use it at work and any decent off cuts I save
its very easy to make brackets out of, its the primary use for it really, and it comes in different sizes.

Thanks for that mate, think I will go for the TK brackets instead (I didn't even know they made digital levels)

I used T&K brackets and scaffold tube with supreme dark motor( would buy different motor next time though) and one of the technomate 1m dishes with 0.1db lnb

My next door neighbour has the technomate motor and it is a bit quieter and has lasted years. The dark motor is fine but that bit noisier and it is nowhere near as old as next doors so god knows what it will be like in a few years time. I may just have a noisy one but it does do what it is meant to

Get TK brackets - they're much more robust. Out of the LNB's, get the Inverto black ultra... don't forget some good quality cable too - Webro WF100 is what I use.

I have the dark motor - had it running almost a year now and still working great :)

whats everyones preferred method for fixing dishes.?
@linesman66 mentioned he used thunderbolts,
I've always used 'fischer' type fixings on the thought that the plastic would absorb some of the wind loading and thus not loosen, thinking that thunderbolts being solid to solid may vibrate loose with wind movement,

discuss,,,,,,,,,

I've got a 1m funke dish that is on a l bracket with a tm2300 motor and has been up for years. I also have a 2nd motorised dish with a small 80cm dish and that is mounted at ground level with t & k brackets. I often switch the motorised dish to a 1.25m. T & k brackets are easy to install and they have a little bit of give if you make a mistake.

Thanks mate,T & K are going to be used,I was looking at gibertini but the supplier lives miles away,Systemsat is less than 2 miles from here

Should a mesh dish be considered to minimize wind loads?
