HDD Issue

Hi all, I have a Seagate HDD connected to my Star 2s, the question is "can I connect it to my computer (Windows 7) and down load the programs ect", I have tried connecting it and the computer say the drive needs formatting, many thanks in advance Terry
 
No not possible as you had to initialise for use on the 2s. But you can FTP into the drive and download any files to pc
 
Also assuming your zgemma is wired into your network you should be able to see it as a device. I'm pretty sure you can browse the folders for your media there.
 
The drive will be formatted as ext4 and unfortunatly windows does not support ext4 plug and play. FTP is the easiest way and saves you disconnecting the drive from your gemma box and will give you access to the drive so you can access your recorder files that way.
