hdd wont flash what am i doing wrong

ive downloaded and unzipped sucmnsee vix image. ive formatted the hdd. ive placed the folder on the hdd. ive inserted hdd in back of zgemma and turned it on. nothing happens except the zgemma loads to its home screen. im using a reclaimed sly hdd inside a CIT housing, as advised by sucmnsee
 
I was told by sucmnsee to use the hdd to do both jobs. No need for a USB key.

I'm not saying your wrong. It's probably me picking things up wrong.
 
As we said last night. Flash with USB pen then when flashed take out USB and put in hdd then follow steps initialise/mount manager/swap manager etc as per sucmnsee's download instructions
 
Do I need to format the hdd with hdd guru and windows.
