I have download speed of 78mbs if I connect direct to my router. using homeplugs the most I can get is 18mbs. is this the norm or can I improve on this?

Have you checked the ring circuit the homeplugs are connected to for lose wire
Have you the homeplugs beside noisy
equipment Both isues can reduce speed

just to add to the above...run homeplugs directly from the plug socket not via an extension lead

I get the same result on computer and zgemma H2s.
When I use VPN speed drops 90%

Homeplugs should not drop your internet that much.

You will never get the full reported speed on them, I have never got it.. But that does seem low & losing alot of B/W
They are fine and dandy for use on a computer and for clearing cccam lines on a box, but for IPTV and other... you really do see the performance drop on it and never recommend for using for this..

I have used them for many years never a problem with speeds
On virgin 200 and I'll getting the 200 at any ethernet in the house

I have mixed brands and speeds with no problems

Check the speed with and without VPN, never had an issue with homeplugs, run IPTV and Cable with them
seen big drops when using WIFI but not homeplugs compared to hard wired.
