How do I enable pause/rewind in Kodi PVR. Please help.

Hi. I have an xtrend 8500, HDD twin tuner. I have Kodi 16.1 installed in another room and using the VU+PVR I can stream perfectly to this room from the xtrend downstairs. I cant however pause/rewind and the buttons are greyed out.

I've enable timeshift in xtrend (openvix) but nothing works. Any help would be appreciated.

vu plus pvr on kodi pause/rewind doesn't work, Its been a long time but I remember reading somewhere that it was something to do with stability, there was a guy who posted on kodi forums a year ago that they was working on a version that had these features enabled but I dont know if anything was ever released.
