how to re-use hard drive??

hi was wanting to re-use a hdd which has previously been mounted onto an edision box , when it is connected to the computer it is not seen, however it can be found thro control panel,storage management but the format field does not enable? any suggestions please.

It may already be formatted as ext4 if it's been used on another Enigma2 box.
If that's the case you won't need to initialise it on the Zgemma.
Switch the ZG off and restart it with the new drive plugged in the back.
Check Mount Manager and make sure it's mounted as /media/hdd and Ext4 R/W.

Edit: Sorry, just assuming the box is Zgemma. Should apply to any Enigma2 box though.

Hey you don't say but if you're looking to use the HDD on your PC you may need to "clean" it first. Follow the steps in this link.

Format it with the low level formatting tool by HDDGURU

It's a free download

Then create a partition in disk management on your PC
